Title: D.N.Angel - Sleeping Beauty Time: 4 days
Tools: Pencil, paper, photoshop - the three P's Reference: Sky, Satoshi, Risa, lillies, dragon, Saint Seiya...() Why: Because drawing The Little Mermaid was too hard ...And after drawing Risa's dress in Sunday Afternoon it's Satoshi's turn to look all pretty. Characters:
Satoshi Hiwatari as the Prince...in shiny armor (lol)
Risa Harada as Sleeping Beauty Story: Based on Disney's Sleeping Beauty because er... the "classic" Sleeping Beauty lacked the pizazz of a romance story. Motivational music: A Newfound Glory - Glory of Love; Jennifer Saunders - Holding out for a Hero
...Hey, music plays an essential part for me to get motivated. So for 4 days, nonstop, I've been listening to the same songs over and over, and over, and over, and over...
-To each his/her own.- Storyline: (Annotated)
In a far away land, long ago, lived a king and his fair queen. Many years had they longed for a child and finally their wish was granted. A daughter was born, and they called her [Risa]. Yes, they named her [Risa meaning "laughter'] for she filled their lives with sunshine. Then a great holiday was proclaimed throughout the kingdom, so that all of high or low estate might pay homage to the infant princess. And our story begins on that most joyful day.
Thus on this great and joyous day did all the kingdom celebrate the long awaited royal birth. And good King [Harada] and his Queen made welcome their life long friend, King [Hiwatari] and prince [Satoshi].
Fondly had these monarchs dreamed one day their kingdoms to unite. Thus today would they announce that [Satoshi],[Hiwatari's] son and heir to [Harada]'s child would be betrothed. And so to her his gift he brought, and looked, unknowing, on his future bride.
The most honored and exalted excellencies, [the three good fairies, entered the room]. [They bestowed gifts of beauty and song. But before the third could offer her gift, a fourth and evil fairy entered the castle. Angry and bitter, she bestowed a curse upon the slumbering child.]
The princess shall indeed grow in grace and beauty, beloved by all who know her. But, before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. [In a puff of smoke, she disappeared and left everyone to mourn for the heir to the throne.] [The third fairy, although she could not dispell the great and evil fairy's curse, came up with a gift to counter it. Yes, the child shall prick her finger, but she will not die. Instead, she will fall into a deep sleep, and] shall wake when true love's kiss the spell shall break...
And so was the beginning of the purest love story of the ages.

AAAAGGGHH~!! The pain! The pain! It's finished!
Gee, can you guess which one took the longest to draw? I'd be wondering about your sanity if you can't... O_o;;
It was Risa! Ahahahahahaha~ j/k!
Apologies to those who've been waiting for a reply from me. Now, you know why...
I intended to draw The Little Mermaid, but after I heard A Newfound Glory's version of Glory of Love, I changed me mind.
And, yes, that is a dragon in the sky for all those dark-monitored users who can't see it.
Well, this will probably be the last of any deviations until after I move and get settled in along w/my mom and sis. New town, new university, new strangers, new weird stuff to face...
Don't bother pointing out what's wrong with the pic - I already know.

- This version of the Sleeping Beauty story is copyrighted by Disney.
- 10% of this fanart belongs to me. No stealy-weely...like who'd want to steal SxR fanart, anyway?
Actually, I believe that the image is very well-done, even without pointing out the mistakes you seem to see in it (it's just style to me).
The shine in the armor is very nice on Satoshi. I also like the annotated version of the story. Now that I think about it, it's just plain cute this way. Nice way to think of the pairing! I love it!
I tend to turn a blind eye to mistakes I make a lot...it just makes me look like a newbie who looks like they can talk the talk but can't walk the walk...But, hey, the story is really a nice twist.
....woah! satoshi looks VERY sexieh with those clothes!!! the colouring is AWESOME!!! *___* and the background ish great!!! the time yo0 took onto it really worth it!!! :3
